When working with large quantities of dust, the reversible-blade fan option ensures fast, efficient cleaning of air inlets. Hydraulically operated, it briefly reverses the air flow to remove deposits from the calender, without interrupting work.
The function can be activated manually or automatically, This ensures constant air flow and optimum cooling capacity. It thus contributes to reduced fuel consumption and maintenance time, even under demanding conditions.

With flow rates of up to 109 or 152 l/min, the Fendt 500 Vario provides the hydraulic capacity needed for demanding applications, with efficiency, precision and reliability. The load-sensing pump ensures fast, customized oil supply and maximum precision. Up to five distibutors are available at the rear, a maximum of two at the front and two or three additional ones linked to the multicoupler, ideal for use with front loaders, front/rear mower units, tedders, windrowers, seed drills and many other implements.
The Fendt 500 Vario Gen4 can also be fitted with Power Beyond couplings, which enable particularly precise control of hydraulic functions with low losses. The implement is only supplied with oil when it actually needs hydraulic power. FFC couplers with flat faces can be used as an option. Whether for haymaking, cereal crops or specialty crops, the Fendt 500 Vario Gen4 easily adapts to a wide range of applications.
Always in the right rpm range
The standard four-speed PTO (540/540E/1000/1000E rpm) ensures particularly efficient operation. With four selectable speeds, the PTO can always be operated in the optimum power range. This not only increases productivity, but also considerably reduces fuel consumption. Electro-hydraulic preselection and ECO modes ensure particularly efficient operation, combined with the high operating comfort of the FendtONE control concept. Additional control buttons on both rear fenders facilitate operation outside the tractor cab, saving travel time and increasing profitability in daily use.
Automatic steering axle lock
Automatic locking of the steering axle ensures precise, safe driving without manual intervention. The steering axle is active within a defined speed range up to a maximum of 25 km/h, making the hitch more maneuverable and minimizing tire wear. If the set maximum speed is exceeded, the tag axle is automatically locked to ensure stable driving behaviour under acceleration. Even when reversing, the axle locks automatically to allow manoeuvring. The driver's workload is significantly reduced, and safety is also enhanced.
Additional deceleration force without wear
The hydraulic auxiliary brake on the Fendt 500 Vario Gen4 uses the existing hydraulic circuit to produce an additional braking effect during deceleration or descent, without any mechanical wear. It can be comfortably activated using the dedicated foot pedal or an assigned button. This is an undeniable plus in terms of safety, especially when towing heavy loads. At the same time, the brakes are spared, reducing long-term maintenance costs. As a result, the tractor remains safe and controllable at all times, even during demanding transport tasks.
Trailer braking assistance: downhill assistance
The Trailer Brake Assist (TBA) stabilizes the tractor plus trailer or implements coupling by means of pneumatic braking, in critical situations. The TBA constantly monitors the thrust of the trailer or implement on the tractor, and automatically manages the application of braking pressure without the need to depress the brake pedal. The TBA is activated only when necessary, at speeds of up to 25 km/h, providing additional safety while protecting the field or the topsoil. It is not a downhill assistance system like the retarder on a truck, and does not replace a retarder. Overall, the TBA ensures safe, relaxed driving with a trailer.
